If you’re considering taking a plung into the world of VoIP, then be prewarned not to consider using NetGear brand hardware. I’ve used two different models of wired/wireless routers. The WPN824 router didn’t work at all with VoIP. I configured the router with port-triggering, port-forwarding, and punched through the firewall with port specific rules directly to a static IP address.
No luck and no go. I like NetGear and the product line. This is an issue that goes back two years.
