st louis computer repair acer reseller Acer Computer Passes Dell As Number Two In Shipped PCs Behind Hewlett PackardAcer computer continues to show impressive numbers as the number two PC manufacturer.  Acer earned the number two spot by shipping more computers than Dell for the third quarter of 2009.  Dell is feeling the pressure and shows signs of distress.

Dell recently acquired Perot Systems, a consultancy of Information Technology, to extend it’s mission to IT services and solutions.  Objectively this is a move to provide better diversification for both profitable growth and better market resistance to down turns in the economy.  It also provides Dell further capacity to sell computers to existing Perot customers.  Dell’s management hopes this will repair the computer slump it is experiencing.

Acer computer intends to dominate the PC market by being the first manufacturer to sell the recent segment of the netbooks.  Netbooks are essentially a stripped-down computer with “bare-bone” features to browse the Internet, basic desktop office publishing, and e-mail.  The units feature a 10.5 inch display and are about the size of a hand bag.  The units do not have a CD/DVD disk drive.

Acer has a deep history within the IT industry that dates back to the 1980′s.  Although prominent in the US throughout the eighties to the mid-nineties, Acer pulled out of the US after substantial revenue losses due to over diversification.  Money was spread thin enough that the losses were too much and little capital was available for rainy-days.  Acer has since learned from history.

As a network and computer repair St. Louis service provider we are proud to offer Acer computers, projectors, and netbooks to our existing and future commercial customers.  Net-Net Tech, LLC has maintained a five year relationship with Acer.  We are partnered with HP, Dell and Acer as a valued added reseller.
