IBM announced it is opening a new tech service delivery center in Columbia, MO that will create 800 new technical professional jobs.  The center, which will be operational by fall 2010, will provide information technology (IT) services for IBM customers.

The hiring process will start during the summer of 2010.  The consultant technology positions range from entry level up to senior positions. IBM officials signed a 10-year lease for a facility located on LeMone Ind. Blvd.

Of course, Gov. Jay Nixon has to take some credit for the transaction.  He made it known it is his top priority.
