Remember Them and Write Them

in Security

Seems social engineering is the only attribute in the world of security available to ensuring a secure environment.  This is true be it IT, the office place, or even your backyard.  Computer and network security require education of the latest trends and preventative practices to retain a secure premise.

Tim Barker, St. Louis Post Dispatch, recently wrote an article on the advantages and disadvantages for password management policies.  Some good points are mentioned, but the article fails to mention the core to security retention.  Education of computer security on a regular basis.

Private computer networks are easily broken into through primitive methods.  The various techniques are not for this article, but maybe a future one.  Take the time to read the embedded links.  You will find the information beneficial.

Computer and network security starts with the user and is enforced by the management.  All the expensive hardware in the world, to prevent the BOTS, viruses, and malware, will not work if someone cannot remember their password or writes it down.

It is not like under the keyboard is the safest location for secret information.  That’s is the last place I would look.  :-)
