Recently a post on our blog regarding a high speed train from Chicago to St. Louis was in the works by Illinois.  The train will cost eight billion bucks.  Of course, this comes from the one trillion dollar stimulus of 2009.

The route is fully subsidized by fedzilla.  It certainly is high-tech and all, but it is funded by the great, great, great grandchildren of Mr. Obama.

This evening the president will detail the plans during or after his State of the Union address.  Projects of this type are of no value.  They do create jobs, but takes the country down a bad path.  The St. Louis Metrolink and AmTrak are two good examples of this.  Both projects have never produced a profit nor are they ever filled to capacity.

Either way, you are bound to see the president all over the TV this evening.  Have fun.  I’ll be working on something productive.
