The White House Blog announced they will start posting a list of all the visitors to the White House.  A small group of guests will not be listed due to national security.

Unfortunately, due to legal pressure via lawsuits, it took this long.  The president campaigned on transparency and he has not followed through.  The White House finally gave in and settled with terms from the lawsuits.

The Holy Father expressed his pleasure of a multi-disciplinary collaboration of science, anthropological, philosophical and theological research.  The Pope expressed his joy at the opening of the conference between the “Academie des Sciences de Paris” and by the Pontifical Academy of Science.

In our time, said the Pope, “the exact sciences, both natural and human, have made prodigious advances in their understanding of man and his universe”. However at the same time “there is a strong temptation to circumscribe human identity and enclose it with the limits of what is known.

Although this is a small step away from technology, it is a good source of reflection.  After all, computers are a science.
