The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it is difficult to enforce the recent text messaging law passed for those under the age of 21.

We have posted on the under 21 text messaging law more than once.  One has to ask how this law even went through legislation.  It surely doesn’t take too much thought to realize the fact enforcing the law is almost impossible.

The state wasted tax money to pass the original bill and will now move to correct it later and waste further tax money.  Ultimately it is good to have it illegal for all drivers.  The end result is positive, but questions still linger about what politicians do.

In my view the Missouri state troopers are  just as well good not even bother trying to enforce the ridiculous law until Jefferson City can get it together.

Missouri Department of Transportation has implemented a new policy. Employees are banned from texting while driving.

This policy extends to personal vehicles if the vehicle is used for official business. The irony is of all the departments. The transportation department shows common sense. So you won’t see an employee driving the street sweeper while texting. That’s a relief and one item off my list of things to worry about.

I just wish I could text my kid while he is on the road. Well there is only five more months until he is 21. I cannot wait.

A Missouri law banning anyone under the age of 21 goes into affect today. The absurdity of the law is both a waste of tax payer’s money and ironic.  My point, does the law promote the usage of text messaging over the age of 21.

How is it adults, presumably born with logic, would waste the time and taxpayer’s money by passing this law?  If drinking while driving is outlawed, this law should outlaw the activity for all ages.

Statistics prove the stupidity of this law.  Text messaging while driving increases the likelihood of a fatal accident exponentially.  Some statistics report a 2700% increase.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on August 25, 2009 a judge awarded $18 million to a man who was hurt in a St. Louis County pileup.  In this case the driver of the truck, who caused a multiple-death car pile up, was reaching for a cell phone.  How devastating would the results be if he was text messaging?

The Missouri state legislature passed bill SB130, sponsored by Senator Ryan McKenna D-Crystal City, which restricts drivers under the age of 21 from text messaging while driving.

I’ll take that as a complement considering I am over 21.  My wisdom has grown to the point that I am capable of penetrating all potentially unsafe things unscathed while texting messages during traffic.  After the age of 21, one miraculously performs a metamorphoses into another form of matter capable of multitasking and experiencing no distractions to peripheral events while cruising down the road.

Maybe it is just me.  There is nothing more comforting cruising the highway and watching someone text message while driving.  Particularly if they are over 21.

Hey maybe we should expand our business and start computer and network repair here in the Saint Louis and St Charles, MO area while on the road between customers.  After all, time is money and this certainly would put the bottom-line in the positive.

Studies show that 26% of drivers text message while driving.  It is a relief knowing that they are over 21.  Otherwise it would be a mad world out there.
